My name is Cristina Serra, and I manage a small (family) company - Diagonal Peregrina.
This company owns the "Vertical Chess" brand, registered as 018837223 EUIPO.
We live and work in Braga, in the north of Portugal, and we design and produce high-quality wall chess sets using engraving techniques,
Vertical chess sets, a unique twist on the traditional ones, offer a different purpose and a fresh perspective.
The idea is not so much to play a game face-to-face as to use it as wall decorative motives and post interesting chess positions.

Engraving
We engrave our pieces in a small CNC machine.
Our engraving process is a testament to our commitment to quality. It demands a significant amount of technical expertise and diligent work, ensuring that each piece is crafted with precision and care.
The cutters must be changed for each engraving or cutting process, and the machine must be adjusted multiple times for each production. This process takes a considerable amount of time (in comparison to the laser or UV printing process). However, the result is indeed excellent!
Low-relief engraving, which creates a tactile and visually appealing surface, is a unique and attractive feature of our pieces.
